H. Özkan Sivritepe was born in Bursa, in 1963. He completed his undergraduate education at Uludag University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, in 1985. He started working as a research assistant in the same department, in 1986. He graduated from Uludag University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, in 1987. He was awarded with the PhD degree in 1992, with his studies on seed physiology and technology at the University of Bath, in England. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Uludag University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, between 1993 and 1996. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in the field of Vegetable Growing and Breeding in 1996 and was promoted to Professorship in 2002. He was appointed as a Professor in Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences of Konya Food and Agriculture University, in 2018. Between 2018 and 2023, he held administrative positions at Konya Food and Agriculture University, such as Head of the Department of Plant Production and Technologies, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, and Vice Rector. He currently works as a freelance researcher and consultant in the field of seed science and technology. He carries out R & D studies on developing priming (i.e., hydropriming, halopriming, osmopriming, organic priming, thermopriming, etc.) and dehydration protocols in seeds of vegetables and field crops for seed and seedling companies. He also provides practical trainings in the fields of seed physiology and technology to the R & D personnel of seed companies.
